KATHMANDU, July 21: Over 10,000 people attended 'Tech X 2024,' an exhibition showcasing advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and cybersecurity, organized by Softwarica College of IT and E-commerce. Held from July 30 to August 4 at the college's Dillibazar campus, the event saw enthusiastic participation from students, professors, politicians, and IT stakeholders.
The exhibition featured projects by second and third-year students, drawing attention from notable figures including Nepali Congress General Secretary and MP Gagan Kumar Thapa, Rastriya Swatantra Party MPs Hari Dhakal, and former Deputy Inspector General of Nepal Police Remash Kharel. The event also attracted students from higher secondary levels and IT entrepreneurs.

Amrit Thapa, the college director, expressed satisfaction with the event's success, noting the high turnout and the involvement of politicians and tech enthusiasts. "The exhibition was aimed at those interested in IT and prospective students. We are encouraged by the strong participation and support," he said.
The 'Robo Mania' competition featured intense battles between robots, with Xar securing first place, Destructor in second, and Botminds in third. The winners received Rs 40,000, Rs 20,000, and Rs 10,000, respectively.
Displayed projects included a robotic dog, an AI assistant designed for library and airport management, and semi-automated technology for warehouse management. The exhibition also featured a robot focused on password cracking.
The event aimed to showcase the transformative changes in IT and discuss the role of IT education in developing practical life skills. Bigyan Shrestha, president of the college, emphasized the importance of understanding these technological advancements. College head Pramod Paudel added, "The program was organized to highlight recent changes in IT and to underscore the significance of IT education in our lives."
