Ornithologists have discovered Ashy Minivet in Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve (KTWR) and Indian Vulture in Chitwan National Park (CNP).[break]
Ashy Minivet birds were first spotted by field ornithologists Badri Chaudhari and Hathan Chaudhari for the first time in KTWR on November 19. Birds of this species have been spotted by other ornithologists several times in KTWR this year.
Similarly, prey bird expert Tulasi Subedi spotted birds of Indian Vulture species in the CNP on December 1.

According to the NRBC chairman Suchit Basnet, Ashy Minivet is considered as a migrant bird in Nepal. Ornithologist Dr Hem Sagar Baral said birds of Ashy Minivet species entered Nepal through north India this winter while expanding their geographical territory.
Indian vultures are found especially south of Gangetic plains in the Indian subcontinent and sometimes reach up to east of Pakistan, say ornithologists.
