KATHMANDU, Oct 23: On Sunday, two additional Nepali citizens were successfully rescued from Israel as part of Operation Ajay, led by India. This initiative, which began 11 days ago, aims to rescue individuals affected by the conflict between Israel and Palestine.

This recent flight marks the sixth rescue mission conducted by India, bringing the total number of rescued passengers to 141, including two Nepali citizens. Previously, 19 Nepalis were also brought to safety on an Indian aircraft.

Notably, a Nepal Airlines aircraft had earlier been dispatched to Israel to evacuate Nepali citizens from conflict zones, resulting in the safe return of over 250 individuals to Nepal.

Additionally, the remains of four out of the 10 Nepali victims who tragically lost their lives in an attack by the Hamas rebel group in Israel have arrived in Nepal. Efforts are underway to repatriate the bodies of the remaining six individuals. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to work on locating Bipin Joshi, who has been out of contact in Israel.
