Police arrested Maoist district committee members Khagendra KC and Karan Gharti Magar from Butwal.
Police Inspector Pawan Kumar Giri at Palpa District Police Office said the duo was arrested in response to written complaints filed by the victim.
They had beaten up and smeared soot on Ranger Ramesh Kumar Chaurasiya´s face at Dovan Ranger Post in the district alleging that the latter did not obey the party´s directives to stop cutting down trees.
