Two KJWP members arrested

UDAYAPUR, June 10: Two central members of Kirant Janawadi Workers Party, an underground outfit operating in eastern hilly districts, have been arrested from Khotang.



Pawan Tamang from Kharmi-2 and Kumar Rai from Bopung-2 have been arrested, said Police Inspector Shyam Oliya. Tamang has been accused of arson that took place in Udayapur three months ago and Rai is accused of involvement in the attack at the police post in Nunthala about a month ago. Police also confiscated 400 meters of cloth.



Three days ago, police had seized some weapons and explosives -- that includes four .303 rifles, 98 rounds of bullets and 20 kg of gelignite that were looted from the police post during the attack.
