Two killed, six injured in jeep accident

BUTWAL, June 22: Two persons died and six others were injured when a jeep carrying Indian tourists from Delhi met with an accident at Khorbari, Chirtungdhara along the Siddhartha Highway on Monday afternoon.



The jeep (DL 7 CE 1726) en route to Pokhara from Palpa met with the accident and fell down 300 meters while saving a pedestrian on the highway.



Eighteen-year-old Niranjan Singh of Khanigaun VDC in Palpa who was trying to cross the road was also injured in the accident. All the injured are being treated at Mission Hospital in Tansen.



The deceased -- a man and a woman -- have not been identified yet. Palpa´s Deputy Superintendent of Police Pawan Giri informed that they could not be identified because all the injured were unconscious.
