One killed, six injured in Ramechhap jeep accident

RAMECHHAP, Sept 22: A person died in a jeep accident at Sunarpani of Manthali municipality-5 in Ramechhap on Sunday. Deputy Superintendent of Police Pradeep Kumar Singh said that six people were injured in the accident.

The jeep with registration number plate Ba 1 8 Cha 1839 was heading to Salu of Manthali-4 from the district headquarters Manthali. It fell 150 meters down the road on Sunday afternoon. 

According to the police, Padma Maya Nepali, 60, from Manthali-4 died on the spot.

Similarly, those injured in the incident have been identified as driver Gun Kumar Thapa Magar, 42, and Dilip Kumar Baruwal, 69, Sita Nepali, 34,  Sujita Rasaili, 24, Sarita Nepali, 25 and Sarita's five-month-old daughter Ronisha from the same ward. 

Thapa Magar and Baruwal have been sent to Kathmandu for further treatment, while others are being treated at Manthali-based Ramechhap Community Hospital and Manthali Hospital, DSP Singh added.
