"While two died during police operation and one was arrested, two others are still absconding," said Chief of Siraha District Police Office, SP Rajesh Lal Karna. The arrested has been identified as 18-year-old Haridev Thakur of Dahatiy- 8.

Chief of Sagarmatha Zonal Police Office SSP Govinda Prasad Niraula said the operation was a result of a special plan designed to control the recent cycle of crime in Siraha district.

SP Rajesh Lal Karna (R) and cloth trader Bijay Sah are being felicitated.

"This is the first time that we have been successful in our plan although our aim has always been to rescue the kidnapped person without paying ranson," said Niraula after the operation.

SP Karna said a special team was mobilized to secure Sah´s release immediately after the incident. The police team had left for Chandrodayapur Wednesday evening after identifying the place where Sah was hidden.

"We encircled the area and managed to free Sah. We managed to kill two abductors in retaliatory fire as they opened fire while fleeing the place," SP Karna explained.

Meanwhile, upon his safe return with the help of police, abducted Bijay Sah said that the police´s arrival at the spot was no less than the god´s arrival for his rescue.

Family members.

"The masked abductors tortured me enough. The food and water they provided was of very poor quality and I could not eat. They would beat and thrash me every now and then. From Sunday they were in contact with my family for ransom and I was gradually losing hope that I would return alive. Thank God, the police saved me.

Their arrival at the spot made me feel like the god himself appeared to rescue me," he narrated. He added that the abductors had warned him not to inform the police at any cost. "They wanted Rs 2 million if I informed the police, one and a half million if I informed the locals and one million if I kept quiet."

Interestingly, locals on Thursday felicitated the operation team at Golbazar for the success.
