Indra Bahadur BK, a local resident, has also been rounded up in connection with the kidnapping. BK, the alleged mastermind, has conceded that they had kidnapped the boys with a plan to extort heavy ransom from their parents. [break]
They might have succeeded had the police did not sprung into action immediately after the parents approached a local police station after the boys did not return home late into the evening from Shanti Deep School where they study.
The kidnappers could not take the children to a more secluded place or demand the ransom after the police launched a massive manhunt immediately, the police said.
The children who are already been reunited with their families have said that two youths who came on a motorbike whisked them away, saying that their fathers had asked them to fetch them.
The kidnappers had also bought sweets and noodles to lure the kids.
The two youngsters directly involved in the kidnapping are still on the run though the police have recovered the motorbike (Ra 1 TA 4180) used in the abduction.
The police have also informed that altogether five youths were involved in the kidnapping besides BK, and that they have already identified the kidnappers.
