BAGLUNG, June 15: Two people were killed in a jeep accident at Tarakhola Rural Municipality in Baglung district on Thursday.
The jeep (Ga 1 Ja 6034) was en route to Tarakhola Rural Municipality Office from Ghusmeli Kakrakhor. The two victims died on the spot, according to District Police Office (DPO), Baglung.
Among the deceased is Hemanta Ghimire, 24, who is also a ward member of ward 3 of the rural municipality. The other deceased is Hari Ram Giri, aged around 54, of the same location, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bishwa Raj Singh, who is also spokesperson for the DPO.The jeep driver Dambar Bahadur Ghimire of Tarakhola-3 and another passenger Karna Bahadur Bhadari, aged around 42, sustained serious injuries.
They are currently undergoing primary treatment at Harichaur, informed DSP Thapa.“There were altogether four people in the jeep. While two of them died on the spot, the survivors sustained critical injuries,” he said.According to locals, the jeep plunged around 500 meters from the road.
