Two, including own younger brother, arrested for allegedly killing Amarendra Thakur

SARLAHI, June 26: Police last Tuesday arrested two persons on the charge of killing Amarendra Thakur of Kabilasi Municipality-8.

Thakur, 24, who had a furniture business in Agrawa chowk was found murdered and dumped last Tuesday. Sarlahi Police arrested Thakur’s brother, Amarkant Thakur and a local Rupesh Kumar Chaudhary on the charge of being involved in the murder.  

According to the District Police Office, Sarlahi, both the accused were arrested after investigating the incident using police dogs, facts from interrogation and analysis after talking to the locals about the case and other circumstantial evidence seen at the incident site and analyzing those findings with the help of technology.

There was a fight between the brothers Amakrant Thakur and deceased Amarendra Thakur on Monday evening. According to Sarlahi Police, Amakrant, the younger of the two brothers, had planned to kill Amarendra Thakur on the same day along with his friend Rupesh Kumar Chaudhary from the same village.  

According to the police, Amarendra Thakur was called to a remote location west of Agarwa Chowk and stabbed in the neck with a sharp instrument and hit with stones. The two men engaged in the incident, Amarkant Thakur and Rupesh Kumar Chaudhary, have been detained and a case has been filed against them.

The accused have been remanded in custody for a week and further investigation is currently underway, according to DSP Madhav Prasad Dulal, Spokesperson for the District Police Office, Sarlahi.
