Two held with 263,000 yuan

SURKHET, July 27: Police on Wednesday arrested two men at Surkhet airport for possessing around 263,000 Chinese yuan.



Sonam Lama and Nirbu Tamang of Mugu were arrested with the sum that is equivalent to Rs 2.95 million. [break]



The two were set to take a Tara Air flight to Jumla when they were arrested. Police suspect the sum was meant to be used for criminal activities.



Police say the two were being used as peddlers.



The two brought the money to Surkhet from Kathmandu.



They had travelled by night bus to Surkhet on Tuesday.
