Two held for smuggling heroin

NEPALGUNJ, Aug 7: Banke Police has arrested two persons on the charge of smuggling brown sugar.



Deputy Superintendent of Police Binod Ghimire said they found 74 packets of brown sugar in a Yeti Air flight on Friday. He said police had checked morning and evening flights after being informed about heroin smuggling from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu through air cargo.



Police have arrested Gobardhan Singh BK of Bageshwari-4 and Sumit Maharjan of Ganeshpur on the basis of information from various sources.



The two had been smuggling heroin from India and sending them to Kathmandu in the names of various hotels, organizations and individuals, DSP Ghimire said.
