BIRATNAGAR, Dec 20: The Morang District Court has sentenced two individuals to life imprisonment on the charge of the gang rape and killing of an 18-month-old girl.
District Court Morang Judge Durga Prasad Dhungel's bench delivered the verdict on December 18, sentencing 25-year-old Ajay Chaudhary and his 28-year-old brother Mithun Chaudhary, both residents of Sundarharaicha Municipality-7, to life imprisonment, as informed by Omraj Subedi, the information officer of the District Court, Morang.
Three killed in separate road accidents in Jhapa
The Chaudhary brothers were found guilty of gang-raping an 18-month-old girl from Sundarharaicha Municipality-7 on March 11, 2022. The incident occurred when the girl was abducted from her courtyard in the evening and taken 150 meters away to a bush of Gachhiya River. Despite receiving medical treatment, the girl succumbed to her injuries on the night of March 11 at the Nobel Medical Hospital in Biratnagar.
A case was registered in the Morang court on April 4, charging the individuals with kidnapping, rape, and homicide.
