Kaila Praja, 25, and Ram Bahadur Praja, 28, died on the way to hospital while Purnamaya Tamang, 30, her 12-year-old son Ramu Tamang and Lal Bahadur Tamang were first taken to Holyland Hospital at Parsa and then to Bharatpur Hospital for treatment.
Lal Bahadur Tamang, a local, said he suffered while trying to switch on the lights that went off due to short-circuit. The four others have been kept under observation.
The bodies of the deceased have been kept at Bharatpur Hospital for postmortem.
