Two die in separate accidents

CHITWAN, June 11: Two persons were killed in separate accidents in Chitwan and Nawalparasi districts within the last 24 hours.



An unidentified elderly person died on the spot in Devghat when he was hit by a dairy tanker on its way back to Narayanghat after collecting milk in Devghat Thursday morning. The police have impounded the tanker (Na 1 Ka 1531) and arrested its driver who hit the pedestrian. The dead body is at Bharatpur Hospital for postmortem.



Similarly, bus driver Salim Miya from Keureni, Nawalparasi died on the spot Wednesday night when his bus (Lu 1 Kha 3282), parked for repair, was hit by a truck (Lu 1 Kha 4591) heading to Narayanghat from Butwal, at Arunkhola-7, Nawalparasi.



Four others were injured in the accident. Sabik Alam, who was repairing the bus, is in critical condition. Alam is undergoing treatment in Bharatpur while the others were treated at a local health center, the police said.
