MORANG, Sept 8: Police have taken two brothers from the same family into custody from Biratnagar on charges of being involved in betting.
Spokesperson of District Police Office, Morang, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gyanendra Bahadur Basnet, said that Utsav Aryal, 24 and Utkrishta Aryal, 18 from Biratnagar Metropolitan City-12 were arrested from their home.

According to him, the brothers were arrested after it was found that they were running a betting business from their home. Police raided their home based on information that the arrested brothers were involved in illegal online betting activities through various apps.
During the raid, it was found that Utkrishta had downloaded apps like '1xBet' on his mobile, said DSP Basnet, adding, "It was revealed that they were using an online digital account for betting transactions." A computer CPU, router, mobile phone, and other items were also seized from their room.
Police stated that the brothers were arrested on September 3 and an investigation was initiated after extending their custody from the court to file charges under the National Penal Code 2074 for illegal betting activities.
