Two arrested with Rs 2.3 million unaccounted cash in Saptari

According to police, a team from the Bhediya Area Police Office led by Inspector Purna Kumar Rai intercepted a Hilux vehicle (Bagmati Province 01-028 Cha 5008) heading towards Gaighat from Kadamaha at around 8:50 PM on Sunday.

SAPTARI, Nov 3: Police arrested two individuals in possession of Rs 2.3 million in unaccounted cash along with a vehicle and electronic goods at Surunga Municipality-2 in Saptari.



According to police, a team from the Bhediya Area Police Office led by Inspector Purna Kumar Rai intercepted a Hilux vehicle (Bagmati Province 01-028 Cha 5008) heading towards Gaighat from Kadamaha at around 8:50 PM on Sunday. During the inspection, police recovered Rs 2.3 million in cash and various electronic items.

Those arrested have been identified as Kiran Sitaula, 28, and Dhiraj Prasai, 19, both residents of Damak-5, Jhapa. Police said they are being interrogated.


From the vehicle, police seized 100 bicycle air pumps, 3 e-rickshaw motors, 31 e-bicycle batteries, 3 e-scooter batteries, 7 battery chargers, and 1 battery tester. Police have sent the seized cash, vehicle, items, and the detainees to the Kadrebona Area Police Office for further investigation.
