PARSA, Nov 13: Police arrested two men from Rajatjayanti Chok of Birgunj last night along with large amount of currency notes whose source could not be substantiated.
The two men were caught with 200 units of the banned Indian currency notes of 1,000 denomination and Rs 1.5 million Nepali currency notes, the source of which could not be substantiated, police said.
Those arrested in this connection are 17-year-old Manu Tiwari of Birgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-16 and 22-year-old Ranjit Sharraf of Birgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-8. Police found the illegal Indian banknotes which Tiwari had hidden inside his shoes while carrying out a body check on him.
Similarly, the Nepali currency notes of Rs 1.5 million were confiscated from Sharraf which he had hidden in the bag. Sharraf was arrested while he was entering Nepal from India.
Police stated that further investigation in this connection is underway. RSS
