DEUKHURI, Aug 22: Police have arrested two people while attempting to abscond after detonating an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) at Mahendra Multiple Campus (MMC), Ghorahi.
Ram Prasad Timalsina, spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the District Police Office, said that two persons were arrested while attempting to abscond after detonating the IED on MMC premises this morning.

DSP Timalsina said that one of the two men, who arrived on a motorcycle, threw the IED and was arrested while attempting to flee. He said, “The IED exploded with a loud noise.”
According to Timalsina, the arrested individuals have been identified as Abhiyan Thapa and Sudan Karki, both are residents of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-15. Both of them study at the same MMC. Both of the arrested persons claimed that they detonated the IED for fun, police said.
Timalsina said that further investigation into this matter is ongoing. Thapa had thrown the IED on the road in front of the MMC, police added.
