RAJBIRAJ, Nov 28: A bomb disposal squad from the Nepalese Army (NA) successfully deactivated a powerful improvised explosive device (IED) found near the border security office of the Armed Police Force (APF) at Ranjitpur along the Rajbiraj-Kunauli road section this morning.
A pressure cooker bomb was reportedly planted by the Communist Party of Nepal (Biplav).
According to Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Singh, they were tipped off about the plan of Biplav cadres to explode the IED near the APF's border security office.
Such information prompted the police to rush to the site where they were able to arrest two suspected people as well. Acting upon the statement given by one of them, they detected the IED which was later defused by the NA team.
Police seized a remote control to be used in detonating the explosives put inside a five-liter pressure cooker. The two are being interrogated for their alleged crime. RSS
