Two arrested for fraudulent foreign employment schemes

Ghimire deceived victims into paying Rs 1.21 million, promising to send them to Georgia, while Kantha took Rs 200,000, claiming he would send them to Romania.

KATHMANDU, Dec 13: Two individuals have been arrested for cheating people by promising foreign employment with lucrative salaries. 


According to the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, Sudip Ghimire, 36, and Bhanu Yajuvendra Kantha, 34, were detained on charges of fraud.

Ghimire deceived victims into paying Rs 1.21 million, promising to send them to Georgia, while Kantha took Rs 200,000, claiming he would send them to Romania. After the victims filed complaints, Ghimire was arrested from Galkopakha in Kathmandu on Wednesday, and Kantha was arrested from Boudha on Thursday.


Both have been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal, Kathmandu, for further investigation and action.
