DARCHULA, June 8: A single woman has been killed by burning in Baril of Shailyashikhar Municipality-1 of Darchula. Anibha Khadayat, 45, of Baril was killed, said information officer for the District Police Office, Darchula, Inspector Lokendra Karki.
The woman was killed by setting fire to a haystack stored near her house. A team led by Darchula Police Chief DSP Pratik Bista has left for the site to investigate the cause of the incident. A team has been mobilized from the Area Police Office, Gokuleshwar to investigate the incident, said Inspector Karki.
Man on the lam after ‘thrashing Dalit woman’ arrested
Ward Chairperson of Shailyashikhar Municipality- 1, Bharat Bahadur Khadayat said that the body of Khadayat was found at night. The woman's husband died seven years ago and she has two daughters and a son. According to Inspector Karki, the police have arrested two locals Birendra Khadayat and Tula Khadayat for interrogation.
