DARCHULA, May 10: A couple was arrested on the charge of burning their 10-month-old daughter to death at Vyas rural municipality in Darchula.
The District Police Office said that Nabin Bista, aged 24, and his wife Sheela Bista were arrested after the local residents reported to the police regarding the murder of the baby girl by her parents on Thursday night.
Two arrested for allegedly burning single woman to death
The locals reported to the police that 10-month-old Anuska Bista died after the parents left their daughter into dry grass and subsequently set fire on her at around 11:30 pm on Thursday. The local residents took the couple under their control when they were fleeing from after killing their daughter.
Later on, they were handed over to the police deployed from Dhaulakot Police Station. Police Inspector Hikmat Bahadur Bohara told Republica Online that they have launched investigation into the case. The postmortem of the victim will be conducted soon, he said.
