KHOTANG, Jan 12: The two area administration offices in Khotang district have halted their services due to poor management of officials from the Home Ministry.

The service delivery from the Aiselukharka-based Area Administration Office was affected from December 3, 2023 while the service delivery has stopped from last week at the Area Administration Office based in Khotang Bazaar.

The entire administrative services including distribution of citizenship, documents verification and recommendation, and others have been completely suspended from the two area administration offices.

The services from the Aiselukharka-based Area Administration Office are affected as the term of reference (ToR) given to Nayab Subba Rajendra Bhurtel ended on December 2, 2023. Since then, the Ministry has not assigned the officer-level employee to lead the office with responsibility.

Chairman of Yeselukhrka Girendra Bahadur Rai said that the citizens have suffered after the services from the Area Administration Office stopped.

An officer at the District Administration Office said that the Ministry of Home Affairs has been written to send an officer-level official or to assign one as the Acting Officer there.

Likewise, the story of the Khotang Bazar-based Area Administration Office is similar to that of the previous one. As the tenure of Acting Chief of Office, Mohan Bahadur Rai, ended last week, the entire jobs of the public service delivery have come to a halt.

With the closure of the services from both the area administration offices, the local residents have witnessed hardships to receive administrative services.
