KATHMANDU, Dec 1: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday slid 4.28 points to close at 2,645.24 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,649.52 points and plunged to the lowest of 2,631.27 points in the first 35 minutes. The market gradually inclined to the day’s high of 2,658.19 points in the next two hours. The market corrected by 13 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.
Nepse stretches winning run with record weekly turnover
Microfinance gained the largest of 30.45 points, while four others including manufacturing and processing, finance, development banks and hydropower were among the gainers. Of the eight losers, life insurance plunged by the largest of 69.96 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies declined 1.72 points. The daily turnover declined significantly to Rs 4.71 billion from Rs 7.08 billion.
Among the individual companies, 124 were gainers while 126 were recorded as losers. United Modi Hydropower Ltd had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 271.0 million.
Nifra Green Energy Debenture 2088/89 witnessed the highest fall of 9.51 percent of its market price. Two companies including Sagar Distillery Limited and Swastik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited were the topmost gainers of 10 percent.
