Popular Nepali bands 1974 AD, Mukti & Revival, Robin and the New Revolution, Abhaya and the Steam Injuns, Sabin Rai & Elektrix, Nima Rumba and The Legend Band, and The Shadows toured five cities to perform for their fans at the local grounds.
With five major shows in five different cities being completed, the concert’s aim to deliver music to everyone and bring together popular music artists and their fans from every corner of Nepal has been achieved.
Saurav Karanjeet, Manager Brand Marketing of Tuborg, shares that each concert in the series has been surpassing their expectations.
“We started with the concert in Nepalgunj and we weren’t sure how a rock concert would be received in a city like Nepalgunj. But talking to the local organizers, we found that it went way better than we had imagined,” says Karanjeet.
The major shows of the concert were held at Mahendra Stadium in Nepalgunj on August 10, at ANFA Technical Center in Butwal on August 17, at Kampa Chour in Narayangadh on August 31, at Public School in Dharan on September 14, and most recently at Pradarshani Maidan in Pokhara on September 21.
Even the hot sun and the rain did not deter the music lovers from coming to watch their favorite artists perform some of the best loved songs.
Bijay Thapa, a local from Nepalgunj who attended the concert, said, “To be able to watch performances of so many popular artists at one stage here in Nepalgunj are an unforgettable moment for me.”
For Sanjay Karki, a resident of Milan Chowk in Butwal, the fun was in singing along with some of the best loved musical artists in the country.
The excitement level in the artists is no less either.
Singer Nima Ruma says that his favorite memories of the concert will be topped by the moments in Butwal where the audiences danced in the rain.
“There were families present with their children and it’ll remain unforgettable for me,” he reminisces. The pop star is also thankful for being able to share the stage with the other bands and artists and states that the friendship and understanding amongst them has deepened as has the respect for each other’s works.
Of the concert in Dharan, Rishav Khatri, a telecom technician at Nepal Telecom, said, “Just like its name, it was really the loudest concert we’ve ever had in Dharan. The band lineup was perfect to make the crowd go crazy and all of the bands were in their best form to make the event memorable for us.”
Similarly, Robecca Pun, a student of Dharan Higher Secondary School, exclaimed, “The concert was simply rocking. My friends and I didn’t realize that the sun had actually set and it was dark while the artists continued to enthrall us. They were amazing and truly rockstars. The sound systems were perfect which made this concert stand out from the previous ones that I have attended.”
Rumba too affirms that the concert’s sound system, lights and stage are better than any seen before in the country.
Before the final concert, Musical Trucks will be traveling around Banepa, Kirtipur and Patan to give people a taste of what’s in store on Saturday at Dashrath Stadium.
The special feature for the last concert on Saturday will be performances by Mukti & Revival, says Karanjeet. This will be the band’s only performance in the concert series.
