KATHMANDU, Jan 22: Tribhuvan University (TU) has unveiled the academic calendar for the current academic session of 2080 BS.

The TU Examination Reform and Coordination Council released the academic calendar of the four-year annual system and eight-semester system of Bachelors’ level and four-semester system of Masters’ level. 

Member-Secretary of the Council and TU Examination Controller, Pushpa Raj Joshi, said deans of the respective faculties and academic institutions sat together and prepared the academic calendar. 

As per the annual system, the first-year exam will be conducted in the second week of Bhadra, 2081 (early September 2024) while the admission for the second-year in the second week of Asoj 2081 (early October 2024) and exam on second week of Asar, 2082 (early July 2025). 

Similarly, the time for admission for third year has been set for the second week of Asar, 2082 (early July 2025), exam on second week of Jestha, 2083 (early June 2026), admission for fourth year in second week of Asar, 2083 (early July 2026) and exam in the second week of Baishakh, 2084 (early May 2026). 

Likewise, the examination of the first semester of Bachelor’s level under the semester system will be conducted in Baishakh, 2081 (mid-April to mid-May 2024), second semester in Asoj, 2081 (mid-September to mid-October 2024), third semester in Chaitra, 2081 (mid-March to mid-April 2025), and fourth semester in Bhadra/Asoj of 2082 (mid-August to mid-September 2025).   

The fifth semester examination has been fixed for Chaitra, 2082 (mid-March to mid-April 2026), sixth semester in Asoj, 2083 (mid-March to mid-April 2026), seventh semester in Chait, 2083 (mid-March to mid-April 2027), and eighth semester in Asoj, 2084 (mid-March to mid-April 2027). 

Examination Controller Joshi said examination of the first semester towards Masters’ level will be conducted in Asar, 2081 (mid-June to mid-July 2024), second semester in Magh, 2081 (mid-January to mid-February 2025), third semester in Asar 2082 (mid-June to mid-July 2025) and fourth semester in Poush, 2082 (mid-December to mid-January 205). 

He mentioned that preparation has been made to publish the results within 100 days of the examinations.
