“We are going to launch EMIS from February 28,” said Controller Pushpa Raj Joshi. “It will take two to three years to keep all the past details of the exams and students,” said Joshi. “All the records of examinations belonging to each student will be available online after we finish with the entry of records,” he added.
The OCE is also planning to allow students to fill up examination forms through online system from the current fiscal year. “Students of the current first year can fill up exam forms online from this year. However, it will be implemented in seven campuses, including the Central University Campus of Kirtipur, representing each of the seven provinces of the country,” said Joshi. “Gradually, this system will be implemented in all campuses across the country,” he added.
TU, which was established in 1959 when renowned poet Laxmi Prasad Devkota was the education minister, has 60 constituent and 1,084 affiliated campuses across the country. With 43 central departments and four research centers, the oldest and biggest university of the nation has a total of 16,014 seats for permanent and contract staffers including 7,920 teaching staff and 8,094 administrative as well as technical staff under its 60 constituent campuses. OCE’s mistake keeps students under ‘psychological pressure’
The second-year students of Master’s Degree in sociology under Tribhuvan University (TU) have troubled by their examination routine after the Office of the Controller of Examinations published the wrong routine for them.
Issuing a public notice, the OCE published the routine of all courses of Master’s Degree two weeks ago stating that the examinations would begin from March 9. However, the routine excluded the codes (506-509) of sociology. As a result, the students said they are under psychological stress because of the confusion about their exams.
