It has been informed that Saturday's meeting of the Information Committee canceled the invitation of applications. The reason for the cancellation of the notification regarding the application for filling up the post has not been clarified in the notice.
This comes amid criticisms from various quarters against the advertisement issued for filling the post of TU Vice-Chancellor as a few questionable criteria have been made to facilitate the appointment of persons favorable to those in power. Additionally, questions have been raised about the formation of the appointment committee and its three members.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed his commitment that the post of Vice-Chancellor will be filled through open competition under any circumstances and that he will not involve any political parties.
