KATHMANDU, Jan 25: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has opened the application for a research scholarship. The metropolis has opened the application for research scholarship for fact-based development and similar construction.
Balendra Shah, mayor of the metropolis, said that the metropolis has opened applications for the 'Metropolis Research Fellowship 2080' to provide productive research opportunities to the researchers.

He said that the development method and social system of the twenty-first century should be based on knowledge, and this kind of knowledge can be obtained through investigative work (research).
He said that the efforts are continuing to make development and development management based on facts. He said that in order to further increase the importance of the search for knowledge and research, the metropolis provides research opportunities to researchers every year through the 'Metropolis Research Fellowship' program.
The themes selected for research this year are as follows:
- History, art, culture, tradition
- Language, literature
- Urban planning, urban design, architecture, transportation, physical infrastructure
- Demographic, sociological or anthropological studies
- Education, social development, youth, social campaign health, standard of living
- Local economic development, urban finance, entrepreneurship, human resource development
- Urban informal sector, poverty, unauthorized settlements
- Environment, sustainable development, disaster management, climate change
- Law, rule
- Information and communication, new thinking
The metropolis has also requested those who want to do research in these programs or those who want to study for the development of the metropolis with a dissertation to apply.
