KATHMANDU, Dec 15: The owner and employee of a travel agency have been arrested on the charge of sending Nepalis abroad to work on visit visas.


The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office of Nepal Police has arrested Nima Chhering Travel and Tours owner Manoj Tamang and employee Padam Lama. Superintendent of Police (SP) Milan KC stated that Tamang and Lama collaborated with an immigration officer to send people abroad to work on visit visas.

The police have also included the Department of Immigration staff under the investigation. Police arrested immigration officer Narbir Khadka on December 13.


During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused allegedly received Rs 40,000 to Rs 55,000 per person and facilitated their travel abroad.


During further investigation, the manager and employees of the travel agency were arrested on the charge of sending 300 people abroad based on their connection with them, police said. It is said that further investigation is underway.
