Traffic resumes on Jomsom-Muktinath road

Dhorpatan, Aug 25: Traffic on the Jomsom-Muktinath road section that was obstructed since Wednesday evening following a flood has resumed from Thursday.



The road network was disconnected after the flood washed away the road in the Pandakhola area of Mustang.

The flood has caused damage to some 20 meters of road along the Jharapjhong and Baragung Muktichhetra rural municipalities.


Chief Administrative Officer of Baragung Muktichhetra Hom Bahadur Thapa Magar said that the road disturbance was cleared to resume the vehicular movement.


He added that the flooding in the Pandakhola causes problems every year in the rainy season.


Likewise, traffic on the Beni-Jomsom road along the Kaligandaki corridor resumed from Thursday.
