Arrivals from South Asia went down by 14.65 percent largely due to drop in arrivals from India - the major source market for Nepal - by 15.74 percent. However, tourist arrivals from rest of Asia increased by 14.36 percent helped in rise in arrivals from China (17.91 percent). Arrivals from Thailand (87.21 percent), Malaysia (77.1 percent) and South Korea (0.9) percent also increased during the review month. Nevertheless, arrivals from Japan and Singapore were down by 12.19 percent and 2.16 percent, respectively.
The data shows that arrivals from Europe increased by 6.59 percent with major tourist generating markets like the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Italy, Russia, Belgium and Austria recording growth of 22.32 percent, 27.3 percent, 3.45 percent, 62.62 percent, 54.3 percent and 28.21 percent, respectively.
However, arrivals from Germany, France, Spain and Switzerland went down by 6.79 percent, 7.7 percent, 14.97 percent and 30.92 percent, respectively.
Tourist arrivals from Australia, Canada and the US increased by 32.58 percent, 107.10 percent and 5.10 percent respectively. However, arrivals from New Zealand went down by 7.63 percent.
