Tourism Minister gives one-month ultimatum to NAC chief to resolve problems

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey has given a one-month ultimatum to Yuvraj Adhikari, executive chairman of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), to address the problems of the state-owned airline company.

KATHMANDU, Jan 7: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey has given a one-month ultimatum to Yuvraj Adhikari, executive chairman of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), to address the problems of the state-owned airline company.


Speaking at a meeting of the International Relations and Tourism Committee of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Tourism Minister Pandey said that he has instructed NAC to prepare an improvement plan within a period of one month.

Similarly, Minister Pandey also stressed that the role of the national flag carrier should be strengthened to control the increase in domestic and international air ticket prices.


He said that Nepal’s airspace should be safe and reliable to strengthen the NAC, and that everyone's cooperation is necessary.


“It is necessary to improve the aircraft procurement process as well as NAC’s operations, and ticket distribution, and we are working to that end,” Minister Pandey added.
