Top three coalition leaders discuss ending parliamentary deadlock

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: The three top leaders of the ruling coalition held a discussion today in a bid to end the ongoing deadlock in parliament.

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: The three top leaders of the ruling coalition held a discussion today in a bid to end the ongoing deadlock in parliament.


According to the Secretariat of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, it has been decided to intensify dialogue with various parties to effectively address the deadlock in the parliamentary proceedings.

Earlier today, a meeting of the leaders of the ruling parties was held at Baluwatar, the official residence of the Prime Minister. The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister who is also the Chairman of the Maoist Center, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal as well as Deputy Prime Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka and Narayan Kaji Shrestha.


According to a press statement issued by the Prime Minister's Secretariat, the leaders discussed the issue of resolving the deadlock in parliament. The statement reads, "The meeting has decided to speed up the process of dialogue with the parties represented in parliament, including the major opposition party, to end the deadlock in parliament."
