Of these, eight are for men and the rest for women, according to Janardhan Adhikari, sales executive at Him Electronics -- the authorized dealers of Timex watch in Nepal.[break]
These new models are currently available at exclusive Timex outlets located at Civil Mall in Sundhara, Peanuts in New Road and KL Tower in Chabahil. They can also be found at 70 Timex dealer outlets located in Ilam in the east to Dhangadi in the far west of the country. They are available for prices ranging from Rs 2,869 to Rs 29,015.
“Most of the watches made for men come with features such as heart rate sensor, which lets one know when heartbeat rate goes, GPS, compass and altimeter,” Adhikari said. “They are suitable for people who exercise daily, runners, trekkers and those looking for superior inbuilt technology at affordable prices.”
Most of the Timex´s women watches, on the other hand, come with big dials and crystal markers of Swarvoski, according to Adhikari. “All these products come with two-year warranty.”
Timex watches, which are being sold in Nepal by Him Electronics for the last two and half years, “have style for everyone - from the locker room to the board room,” according to the company´s website. “And quality is guaranteed, since they are being sold for over 150 years worldwide,” Adhikari said, identifying this as one of the reasons why sales in Nepal in the last two years have topped 81,000 units so far.
Him Electronics is planning to sell 40,000 units of Timex watches in the one-year period to mid-April 2013, of which, according to Adhikari, 25,000 have already been sold.
“Since we have been beating our sales target since the time we started selling these watches in Nepal, we hope we will easily attain our goal,” a confident Adhikari said. “We are also hopeful that our plan to introduce 15 new models of watches every month will enhance sales.”
