RATNAGAR, Feb 9: A tiger was found dead in Jarnelighat on the banks of the Karnali river in Chitwan National Park on Friday.
The male tiger of around 13 years old was found with injuries all over the body and is suspected to have died in an attack by another tiger in the park, according to chief protection officer Bed Prasad Dhakal.
Locals who had gone fishing in the Rapt river informed the park officials after coming across the dead tiger. This is the second incident of death of a tiger since the last census in 2018. The 2018 census showed that there are 93 tigers in Chitwan National Park, according to information officer Gopal Ghimire.
