Nature guide killed in rhino attack

BHARATPUR, April 13: A nature guide died in a rhino attack at Chitwan National Park today.

CHITWAN, April 4: A 32-year-old male rhinoceros has been found dead in the Chitwan National Park (CNP).

CHITWAN, March 22: Three male rhinos and two female ones have been shifted to the eastern part of the Chitwan National Park (CNP) from the western region as of Thursday.

CHITWAN, March 17: Two male rhinos of Chitwan National Park have been translocated internally. The rhinos were transferred from the west to the eastern region of the Park.

CHITWAN, March 15: Six rhinos are being internally relocated in the Chitwan National Park (CNP) from today. The officials are working for the translocation of the rhinos with the increased number of endangered animals in the western belt of the national park. Now, these rhinos will be relocated to the eastern belt of the national park.

CHITWAN, Feb 6: Eleven rhinos have been found dead in Chitwan National Park (CNP) and surrounding areas in the current Fiscal Year (FY). Of these, two were killed by poachers while nine died due to natural causes, said Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, the CNP Information Officer.

BHARATPUR, Nov 20: A Royal Bengal tiger has been found dead in Chitwan this morning in Hariyali Community Forest under the central area of Chitwan National Park located in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-27.

CHITWAN, Sept 3: A rhino was found dead in the Chitwan National Park (CNP). The rhino is suspected to have been killed by poacher(s) as its horn and hooves were found nearby, said the CNP's Information Officer Ganesh Prasad Tiwari.

On Friday, two rhinos– an adult and a four-year-old male – were found dead on the bank of the Narayani River in Madhyabindu Municipality-2 of Nawalparasi (East). The incident that occurred in Chitwan National Park (CNP) area is suspected to be yet another case of poaching, as the horn of the female rhino was found in a severed condition.

CHITWAN, Jan 12: A Royal Bengal tiger and a rhino were found dead inside the Chitwan National Park (CNP).

CHITWAN, Dec 16: At least 554 wild animals have died in the Chitwan National Park (CNP) in the past five months. Of them, 27 died natural death and 21 succumbed to domestic dog biting, said Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, information officer for the CNP.

BHARATPUR, Nov 16: Forty-nine wild animals have died in the Chitwan National Park (CNP) in four months. The largest number of the dead animals comprises 28 spotted deer. Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, information officer of the CNP, said 17 of these animals have died in attacks by dogs and one each due to road accidents and getting stuck in a bog.

BHARATPUR, Oct 11: A tiger that entered a human settlement has been taken under control. A team from the Chitwan National Park comprising technicians took the tiger under control from Sitalpur of Madi Municipality-2 on Monday night.

CHITWAN, September 14: CCTV cameras have been installed in Chitwan's Madi to search for man-eating tigers. After a 68-year-old man from Ward No. 2 of Madi Municipality who had gone to graze his buffalo was eaten by a tiger on September 11, the team of Chitwan National Park started searching for the tiger by installing CCTV cameras.

36 rhinos die in CNP in one year

CHITWAN, July 6: As many as 36 rhinoceroses died in Chitwan National Park (CNP) and its buffer zones in the current fiscal year. Out of these, two were killed due to poaching and the remaining died due to natural causes.

DEV NAGAR, June 28: Three tigers rescued earlier are being sheltered in the Devnagar, Barandabhar forest. As the population of the tigers have increased uncontrollably in the Chitwan National Park and adjacent areas, a rescue facility in Devnagar is being set up.
