Tiger found dead in Bardghat Susta East

KATHMANDU, May 23: A Royal Bengal Tiger has been found dead on the bank of Binayi river in Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality-2 of Nawalparasi (Bardghat Susta East).


Basanta Keshav Adhikari, head of the Division Forest Office, said that the female tiger was found dead on the bank of the Binayi river on Wednesday evening.

"We received a report that a tiger was seen drinking water in the Binayi river. After walking 10/12 meters from the place where it was drinking water, the tiger was found collapsed," he said.


Ved Bahadur Paudel, Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office, said that the tiger sustained injuries to its hindquarters consistent with a wild animal attack.


He said that the dead tiger was transported from the location to the SubDivision Forest Office in Dumkibas for examinations today. This incident marks the third royal Bengal tiger to perish in Bardaghat Susta East since last February, according to the authorities.
