Tiger count begins in Banke

NEPALGUNJ, April 29: Counting of tigers started from today at the Banke National Park here. The national park was established three years back.



The tiger census would be undertaken for 55 days in three stages comprising census in the park area proper, the buffer zone area and the surrounding forests.



Birendra Kandel, the assistant conservation officer at the Park, said that 80 cameras with special technology have been used for the census. A technical team comprising 32 persons including specialists has been mobilized for this purpose.
