Tibetan man dies after self-immolating in Bauddha

KATHMANDU, Aug 6:
A Tibetan man died after setting himself on fire here in Bauddha, on Tuesday morning.



The deceased has been identified as a Tibetan monk Karma Nyedhon Gyaltso, 39, of Dhamshung, Tibet. According to sources, he had arrived at Tibetan Reception Center, Kathmandu on January 30, 2012.[break]



Gyaltso was rushed to Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) following the incident. Doctors at TUTH pronounced him dead at around 8:15 am.



According to Inspector Arun Kumar Bhandari at Metropolitan Police Circle Office, Bauddha, the man self-immolated himself at around 7.45 am at a passage near Bauddha Natha Stupa.



According to preliminary information of the police, the man committed suicide after pouring kerosene at his body. Police with help of locals had taken the man to hospital after the incident.
