KATHMANDU, Nov 2: The Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), the only international airport of Nepal, is set to be closed for 45 minutes due to the Indian President Pranab Mukherjee’s state visit to Nepal.
The TIA will be closed for 45 minutes in view of President Pranab Mukherjee’s security, Premnath Thakur, spokesperson for the TIA told Republica Online. No planes will land and take off at the TIA from 12 to 12:45 pm.
TIA to remain closed for 10 hours a day starting today
Issuing a notice, the TIA has informed that the flights will be halted before and after the arrival of the President, said Thakur.
President Mukherjee is landing at the TIA at 12:30 pm. He is arriving in Kathmandu in an airplane of the Indina Air Force.
