KATHMANDU, May 15: Different parts of the country will witness thunderstorms with lightning and rain till Thursday. Conditions will start improving across the nation from Thursday afternoon.

“The central region of the country, especially Pokhara and surrounding areas, will witness thunderstorms with heavy rain, gusty winds and lightning,” said Sujan Subedi, senior meteorologist at the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD). “Areas around Kathmandu Valley will also see rain, lightning and thunderstorms,” he said.

According to MFD, the Pokhara region and the eastern parts of the country will see rains. “Weather disturbances will continue till Thursday,” said Subedi. 

MFD says that thunderstorms with gusty winds and lightning are likely to occur in some places. “There are chances of light to moderate snowfall at some places in the high mountain region on Tuesday night,” it says.

According to MFD, Tuesday night will be partly to generally cloudy throughout the country. Thunderstorms are likely in a few places.
