“We are sensitive on the issue,” former Prime Minister and chairman of UCPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal said after the meeting concluded. “I will talk to the Prime Minister about it.”
Maoists have been disrupting House sessions since May 4 seeking rectification of President Ram Baran Yadav´s decision.
Maoist´s Chief Whip Post Bahadur Bogati said that the party will let the House resume if the PM vows in the parliament to meet their demands. “We are positive on House resumption if PM Nepal addresses our issues in the parliament,” Bogati said.
The demand of addressing the parliament by PM Nepal was, however, not fully endorsed by NC. “We can have our reservations over PM´s address if he chooses to address Maoists´ issues without our consent,” Ram Chandra Poudel, the newly elected parliamentary party leader of NC, said.
“The meeting went positively,” UML´s central committee member and Home Minister Bhim Rawal said.
UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal, NC´s Bimalendra Nidhi, Maoist leader Baburam Bhattarai and Narayan Kaji Shrestha were also present in the meeting.
