KATHMANDU, Jan 27: Three Nepali citizens left stranded in Qatar for the past three months have been rescued on the command and initiation of the Office of the Prime Minister.
Tilak Bista, Laxman Singh Pant and Harish Bhandari of Belauri Municipality of Kanchanpur reached Qatar in the last week of October, 2016 in search of jobs. They paid Rs 260,000 each to the capital-based Awatar Human Resource Manpower Company for processing their working visas to the gulf country.
After failing to get jobs on foreign soil, they had called up Secretariat of the Prime Minister and requested for rescuing them. In response to their appeal for rescue, the Office in cooperation with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Labor started processes at the diplomatic level to bring them back to the country. The Nepali Embassy in Qatar facilitated the rescue efforts and they finally arrived here on January 25.
According to PM's press advisor Govinda Acharya, now the Office is working to make the manpower company to refund the amount the victims paid to it for processing their visas. RSS
