Three Nepalis held in India with stolen diamond

KATHMANDU, June 17: Indian police on Sunday arrested three Nepali nationals in Durg district of Chhattisgarh with a diamond worth IRs 20 million, allegedly stolen by them.



Media reports said police nabbed them near Radhika Nagar acting on a tip off that the trio had stolen a diamond in Nepal and had come to the state looking for a prospective purchaser.



The arrested have been been identified as Pashupati Nath, 30, Birendra Bahadur, 25, and Subash Khadka, 28.



A 13.11 carat diamond and a platinum ring weighing 6.9 gram was confiscated from them, the reports said, adding the ring is valued at IRs. 35,000.
