Three Nepali fugitives arrested in Dubai with the help of INTERPOL

KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Nepal Police, with the help of INTERPOL, arrested three fugitives accused of fraud and rape cases. They were arrested in Dubai and brought to Nepal.

KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Nepal Police, with the help of INTERPOL, arrested three fugitives accused of fraud and rape cases. They were arrested in Dubai and brought to Nepal.


According to the police, the fugitives in the fraud-related case have been identified as Bhupendra Bohora, 42, from Miklajung Rural Municipality-4 in Panchthar and Kabir Budhathoki, 28, known as Riyaj, residing in Nagarjun Municipality-9, Kathmandu.

Additionally, the fugitive in the case of rape is Roman Karki, 26, originally from Indrasarowar Rural Municipality-5, Makwanpur and currently residing Chandragiri Municipality-10, Kathmandu. They were brought to Kathmandu for legal proceedings regarding their respective cases, as reported by the police headquarters.


The ‘red notice’ against Bhupendra Bohora was issued by the INTERPOL General Secretariat on May, 30, 2022 after a request was made by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) Nepal Police to search operations internationally and arrest.


Senior Superintendent of Police Binod Ghimire said that the red notice against Kabir Budhathoki was issued by the INTERPOL on August 8, 2013, upon the request from Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office of Nepal Police, Ranipokhari. Likewise, the red notice against Roman Karki was issued on June 26, 2024.


Following their return to Kathmandu, Bhupendra was handed over to CIB of Nepal Police and Kabir and Roman were handed over to District Police Range, Kathmandu on Thursday for further investigation and legal action.
