Three municipalities, 40 public servants, one goal: Leadership for Economic Governance

KATHMANDU, Dec 27: Daayitwa, a non-profit organization, has provided training on 'Leadership for Economic Governance' to the mayors, deputy mayors, chief administrative officers and other officials of three municipalities of Lumbini Province.

KATHMANDU, Dec 27: Daayitwa, a non-profit organization, has provided training on 'Leadership for Economic Governance' to the mayors, deputy mayors, chief administrative officers and other officials of three municipalities of Lumbini Province.


The two-day training, aimed at strengthening the policy leadership capacity of senior municipal representatives and officials, was attended by 40 local people's representatives and officials from Tilottama, Musikot and Sunwal municipalities in Lumbini province.

Addressing the participants at the concluding ceremony of the two-day training, Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, Rajendra Prasad Shrestha, said, "Proper management of Nepal's resources by the political and administrative leadership can easily take the country onto the path of productive economy and sustainable development."


According to the organization, “The training provided insights to local people's representatives and officials on issues such as good public policy, practical approach to public service, internal youth employment, law and local development, economic concept of federalism, fact-based policy making, public-private partnership, local government finance management, and ethics culture. We hope to make them aware and sensitive to the issues.”
