DHANKUTA, BIRATNAGAR, Oct 11: Three more COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in Province 1 on Sunday.
Dhankuta has reported the first death due to COVID-19 as a 65-year old woman succumbed to the infectious disease. A resident of Dhankuta Municipality-3, she was admitted to the district hospital after she experienced health problems, and was later referred to Dharan. According to Tulasi Prasad Guragain, chief at the District Health Office of Dhankuta, she was being treated in isolation at a Dharan-based hospital. The office stated that her husband also tested positive and is receiving treatment. There are 15 active cases in the district.

Similarly, two more people died in Biratnagar on Saturday night. The deceased had been receiving treatment at Nobel Medical College. Narayan Dahal, manager of the hospital, informed Republica that a woman,40, from Duhabi, Sunsari died at 11 pm. Likewise, a man in his 70s from Harinagara, Sunsari who was suffering from lungs’ problems died at 11:15 pm last night.
According to the hospital, the woman had a history of diabetes and lungs related problems. Both the deceased were admitted to the hospital after they tested positive for COVID-19.
